I was surprised to learn that many people were killed or burnt by the A-bomb and there are still many people who are suffering from the aftereffects. I can't understand why nuclear weapons that evaporate many people in a moment were made. War must not break out absolutely.

Nice to meet you. My name is Ms. Mayumi Sano. I am a teacher of Higashi Municipal Elementary school, Itoh city, Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. I am sorry to write you back, as I am not accustomed to use E-mail.

Thank you very much for your kind messages to my pupils Toshiki Tanaka and Yuuta Uehara. Tanaka was very glad to read your message. I will show Uehara your message tomorrow. He will be glad because he has been worrying about if his message was actually delivered to you.

We are now studying about an A-bomb by reading a related book titled "The seed of watermelon", a Japanese reader published from "School Book" Co., Ltd. As a part of the study, I gave pupil a homework as "To hear or search about a war."

Two pupils found your home page and introduced it to me. I read the major part of "A Personal Record of Hiroshima A-bomb Survival" in my class. All the pupils went silent and listened to me very carefully in serious looks. They looked like shocked by the story told by an actual survivor.

Thank you very much for your really precious story. Tanaka and Uehara would be very happy if you publish their message on the web site. In my class, pupils are making one thousand folded paper cranes on strings to be decorated on "The statue of A-bombed Children." I will think deeply with my pupils about the importance of keeping peace.
